What’s on the Menu: Gregory’s Mesquite Grill

ST. GEORGE — Occasionally, “What’s on the Menu” host Sheldon Demke’s job takes him to far-flung exotic locations like the Eureka Casino Resort in Mesquite, Nevada.

Gregory’s Mesquite Grill is Eureka’s fine dining establishment. The menu features everything from classic steakhouse favorites to mouthwatering seafood. Accompanied by radio pioneer and local legend Carl Lamar, Demke tried a little bit of everything.

“This place is so nice,” he said. “It’s fancy, elegant and cozy, and they made so much delicious food for us to try.”

Demke started with the surf and turf, opting for the 6-ounce Maine lobster tail paired with a 6-ounce filet. Meanwhile, Lamar dug into a beautiful 18-ounce ribeye.

Next came the pan-seared ahi tuna, a savory appetizer that Demke promised he’ll come back to enjoy time and again. Both men raved about the juicy, tender bone-in pork chop.

“Now I’m not a big fan of pork chops, but I am from Gregory’s,” Lamar said. “I don’t know what they did, where they found a cut like that, but it was absolutely to die for.”

Gregory’s Mesquite Grill also has an extensive selection of wines to pair perfectly with every meal.

Owner Gregory Lee designed the restaurant to be an extension of his home, welcoming and warm. With two dining rooms, one more formal and the other offering a relaxed clubhouse feel, it’s the perfect getaway for a nice dinner with golfing buddies or a romantic date.

“We love celebrating any special occasion; anniversaries, birthdays. It’s our specialty,” said Dani Lefebvre, marketing manager for Eureka.

The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday, with early bird specials starting at 4 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
