ST. GEORGE — Members and veterans of the U.S. Army 2nd Battalion, 222nd Field Artillery, known popularly as the “Triple Deuce,” are invited to attend an upcoming lunchtime gathering in honor of the dually significant date.

Appropriately, the “Taco Tuesday for the Deuce” lunch events are scheduled for Feb. 22 (2-22-22), said retired Staff Sgt. Kelly Kleinman, who added that he and other group members had also met over breakfast and lunch earlier this month in two separate mealtime gatherings held on Feb. 2  in Washington City and Hurricane.

On Feb. 22, group members are planning to gather for lunch starting at 11 a.m. at various favorite St. George restaurants, including Paula’s Mexican Food, Peppers Cantina and Pancho & Lefty’s.

No advance notice is required, Kleinman said, adding that everyone is asked to pay for their own meals.

“It’s open to all who have served or are still serving, or anyone who wants to come and join us,” Kleinman said.

Additionally, 2-222 Field Artillery veterans are invited to attend either or both of two upcoming Triple Deuce reunions. The first is scheduled for March 19 at the Utah National Guard Armory in St. George and the second will be on May 7 at the armory in Richfield. Both events will start at 10 a.m., Kleinman said.
