ST. GEORGE — The annual Wreaths Across America event Saturday saw a record number of wreaths placed on the gravesites of the nation’s veterans.

Wreaths Across America’s mission – remember the fallen, honor those who have served, and teach children the value of freedom – has become a national symbol representing the full measure of devotion and sacrifice people have made since the birth of the nation in 1776. Service groups coordinated wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 2,500 cemeteries across the country.

The Color Country Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution led the wreath-laying charge in Southern Utah this weekend at cemeteries throughout the region.

See our photo gallery below for a sample of the thousands of veterans whose gravestones received wreaths.
