Summit Foot + Ankle Clinic offers modern therapeutic and surgical remedies for plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, hammer toes, bunions, neuropathy, fungus, tendonitis, sprains and a host of other issues. The clinic, led by podiatrist Dr. Ryan Ellsworth, started accepting new patients in July.

“If it has to do with the foot and ankle, we can take care of it,” Ellsworth said.

Many musculoskeletal problems either originate from or manifest through painful foot and ankle symptoms, Ellsworth said. As the foundation of the body, feet shouldn’t be ignored when they’re signaling that something is wrong.

“A lot of people just try to tough out foot pain and think it’s normal,” he said. “We’re trying to educate people that it’s not normal, and it’s not going to go away on its own.”

Summit Foot + Ankle Clinic encompasses nine locations in Riverton, Millcreek, Provo, Payson, Ogden, Price, Spanish Fork and now St. George. Southern Utah needed additional podiatric services due to the growing population and aging demographics, Ellsworth said.

At Summit Foot + Ankle Clinic, patients spend more time with podiatric specialists getting to the root of their concerns. The clinic also focuses on seeing patients quickly, especially in the case of wounds and injuries. Many patients at Summit Foot + Ankle Clinic are able to book same-day or next-day appointments when they need urgent care.

You can expect friendly staff and knowledgeable providers dedicated to getting patients back on their feet fast, Ellsworth said. He is currently the only podiatrist on the staff and will soon be joined by another doctor. The team also includes a nurse practitioner specializing in diabetic foot care.

“While we’re part of a larger group, we have more of a small-town clinic feel,” he added.

Whether a patient is suffering from a mild injury or a chronic condition, podiatrists are the most qualified doctors to care for their feet and address physical limitations caused by pain in the lower extremities. The experienced, compassionate professionals at Summit Foot + Ankle Clinic have all completed podiatric specialty training.

Ellsworth attended the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. After completing medical school, he underwent three years of intensive residency training in foot and ankle surgery at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

The expertise of Summit Foot + Ankle Clinic allows for a full range of treatment options. Surgery and advanced nonsurgical techniques are available for patients in need of rehabilitation or reconstruction.

Foot problems can trip you up and make everything feel off balance. The experts at Summit Foot + Ankle Clinic work tirelessly to provide the best care and ensure that pain doesn’t keep their patients down.

“We not only specialize in foot and ankle health, but we absolutely love everything about it,” Ellsworth said. “We remain dedicated to making sure that foot pain and discomfort don’t interfere with your life’s many adventures.”
