What’s on the Menu: Berries-n-Cream

ST. GEORGE — Local celebrity and foodie Sheldon Demke loves trying out new places to eat and discovering unique ways to approach tried-and-true dishes.

In this episode of “What’s on the Menu,” Demke took Lukas Cox and LaRae Nelson from the Planet 105.1 morning show to check out one of the newest eateries in town, Berries-n-Cream.

Already a success in North Logan, Berries-n-Cream is now open in The Shoppes at Zion in St. George. The formula is simple: Pick your berries, choose your cream and add some toppings like whipped cream or Oreo cookie chunks if you like.

“You can have any combination of the fruit that you want,” owner Noel Mickelson said. “We always have strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, bananas, pineapple. Then we pull in seasonal ones, just anything you can think of that comes into season.”

Demke said Mickelson puts her heart and soul into every dish at Berries-n-Cream, and it shows.

The cream is poured over the berries, filling in the cracks and creating a well-rounded cup of health-conscious deliciousness. Demke and the Planet 105.1 duo tried all three of the cream options: original, chocolate and sea salt caramel.

“It is perfect in so many ways,” Nelson said. “All of the ones that we tried were amazing. Don’t ask me for a favorite, because I really like them all.”

The beauty of Berries-n-Cream lies in the simplicity of its menu items, Mickelson said, which also includes tasty cream sodas.

“It’s simple, healthy, delicious, and that’s all it is,” she added. “It’s just here to make people happy and healthy.”
