The incident, which occurred just after 10 p.m. on 200 North just west of Interstate 15, involved a red Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a silver Jeep.

Cedar City Police Sgt. Justin Ludlow said the Toyota driver had been heading west and was attempting to turn left onto the I-15 onramp when the vehicle was struck by the eastbound Jeep. The Toyota ended up resting on its top in the eastbound lane.

Neither driver was injured, Ludlow said.

The Toyota driver was cited for failure to yield, Ludlow said. He then offered a reminder to drivers that if a traffic signal’s turn arrow is flashing yellow, the oncoming traffic still has the right of way.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

In addition to Cedar City Police officers, multiple Utah Highway Patrol troopers and Cedar City Fire Department personnel responded to the incident.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement and may not contain the full scope of findings.
