CONTRIBUTED CONTENT — If you’ve been out in public at all lately, you’re probably aware of the need for employees at this time. Almost every restaurant or place of business you walk into has a large handmade “We’re Hiring!” sign crookedly taped up in the window next to their front door. The sign itself practically communicates how hastily it was put up as short-staffed businesses hardly have a spare minute to tape a simple piece of paper up.

It begs the question: How does a business stand out amidst this sea of companies all looking to hire?

Salt Lake Express has an idea. Instead of just posting a job next to the thousand other listings on job pages and classifieds, they’d let you know about their new, higher wages, signing bonuses and flexible schedules by way of this article.

“We know that things are overwhelming right now,” said Jacob Price, owner of Salt Lake Express. “There’s a lot of people hiring, and we know that there are people looking for work; they just haven’t found the right fit yet. That’s where we come in with our highly competitive pay and benefits.”

According to a press release from the company, Salt Lake Express is now offering new, higher wages, including a generous $2,000 signing bonus. On top of that, they provide great health, vision and dental benefits as well as flexible schedules that allow you to still maintain your lifestyle. Driver wages have increased by 20% to 60% over the last three years, depending on the area.

“Salt Lake Express is a great company to work for,” said Cristie Smith, a driver for the company. “It’s a fast-growing company with competitive pay and great benefits. Every day is a new adventure. I meet a variety of people from all over the country. We take great pride in getting our customers to their destinations on time and safely.”

The company has also been making some exciting upgrades during the COVID-19 pandemic. For example, they’ve spent $1.6 million on parts (not counting labor) and body work in 2020 and are on track to spend another $1.6 million in 2021. They’ve also opened a shop in Salt Lake City that is staffed with mechanics. Not to mention that they’ve ranked in the top 3% of the nation for maintenance.

“We’ve had the opportunity to really look inward and invest a lot into our company since the pandemic hit,” Price said. “We’ve made considerable improvements to not only our buses, but we also added to our networks with destinations like Reno and Elko, Nevada.”

According to the press release, Salt Lake Express has been in business since the early 1990s and is regarded as a wonderful company to work for. They provide a family environment that encourages growth and professional development for all their employees. They’ve also continually added to their route map over the years, offering routes to metropolitan areas like Salt Lake City; Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada; and Boise, Idaho, as well as popular vacation destinations such as Park City; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and Sun Valley, Idaho.
