Owner Dr. William Plumb describes his office as a one-stop shop for all dental needs. Plumb Dental employs a skilled team of hygienists, assistants and support staff. And with the addition earlier this year of a new associate, Dr. J. Taylor Workman, the practice is well-equipped to serve the growing community.

“More availability means we can get patients in faster,” he said. “We’ll be able to help more people than we ever have before, and I’m super happy about that.”

Workman brings over 15 years of experience to Plumb Dental. He attended dental school in Chicago and later built his own practice in the Denver area. After practicing in New Zealand for a few years, he settled in the local area with his family.

Plumb said Workman has a wealth of “top-notch dental expertise” and shares his practice philosophy of providing honest, transparent service. In some cases, they combine skill sets to better serve the patient.

“I don’t know that you could ever put two dentists in a room and have them agree on anything, but Dr. Workman and I agree on just about everything,” Plumb said.

Plumb and his team truly enjoy helping people through the art of dentistry. Understanding that the solution for one person won’t necessarily be ideal for someone else, they strive to educate patients on all of the care options available to them and then let them decide how to proceed, he said.

Plumb Dental is not the kind of practice where patients will be pressured into choosing the most expensive or invasive treatment option, he said, adding that he has built a reputation of trust and respect in the community.

Plumb invites Southern Utahns to discover the aesthetic and therapeutic benefits of Botox injections at their upcoming “Boo-tox” event. Visit Plumb Dental on Oct. 28 between 4-6 p.m. to take advantage of savings on Botox as well as cosmetic fillers. The Halloween-themed open house will also feature refreshments, vendors and raffle prizes.

Plumb has offered Botox and fillers as an aesthetic complement to dentistry services since 2019, but he originally trained in injections to treat patients with temporomandibular joint dysfunction. Characterized by pain, soreness and limited range of motion in the jaw, TMJ is often caused by habitual clenching and grinding of teeth, which creates tension in the muscles surrounding the mouth. Strategically placed Botox injections help these muscles grow accustomed to functioning in a more relaxed state over time.

Plumb and his team also inject Botox around the pain fibers involved in headaches to reduce the frequency of episodes for chronic migraine sufferers. Botox temporarily interrupts the transmission of certain chemical signals between nerves and muscles to relax the muscles beneath the skin, which promotes pain relief. Reducing lines and wrinkles in these areas is an added benefit, he said.

Fillers are another option for younger-looking skin. Targeting the natural folds of the face that become more prominent over time, fillers contain hyaluronic acid, one of the main building blocks of healthy skin, and can be used to volumize cheeks and lips, fill in forehead lines or contour the chin. Results are visible immediately.

Along with aesthetics, Plumb has undergone specialized training in extractions, cosmetic treatments, implant surgery and bone grafting. He and his skilled team are committed to providing an exceptional patient experience by performing all procedures as safely and comfortably as possible.

“I’m going to bend over backwards to make sure that they get the result they want and that they’re happy,” he said.

Appointment spots at the Oct. 28 Boo-tox event are limited, so Plumb recommends booking in advance. Patients may also call 435-673-9606 during business hours on that day only to buy and bank discounted Botox units for the future.
