Woman in jail after crashing into 2 police vehicles during pursuit in Washington City

ST. GEORGE — A Nevada woman was arrested after allegedly taking officers from multiple agencies on a chase that only ended after she crashed into two police vehicles.

Teconna Dyer, 20, of Las Vegas, was arrested Thursday afternoon and is being held on $10,000 bail.

Washington City officials welcome public to new park

WASHINGTON CITY — A small crowd gathered for the ribbon-cutting of the new Shooting Star Park in the southeastern part of Washington City Friday afternoon.

Located at 1320 East Black Brush Drive amid incoming residential development, the Shooting Star Park is the first large park the city has built since the Sullivan Virgin River Soccer Park four years ago.

Nearly 4,000 runners complete St. George Marathon, women’s course record broken

ST. GEORGE — Nearly 4,000 runners completed the St. George Marathon on Saturday, each finishing the 26.2-mile course in front of cheering crowds at Vernon Worthen Park downtown.

Utah makes emergency ruling restricting the sale of flavored vaping liquids; one case of lung injury in southwest Utah

ST. GEORGE — The Utah Department of Health has issued an emergency rule regulating the sale of flavored e-cigarettes in the state.

The regulations are being implemented to help address recent cases of lung injury which are suspected to be related to vaping unregulated THC products, according to the Utah Department of Health.
