The incident occurred sometime between Friday evening and 8:40 a.m. Sunday at the Ivins Stake Center, which is located at 276 E. 1060 South, Santa Clara-Ivins Police Sgt. Jaron Studley said.

The unidentified intruder entered through an unlocked door, moved paintings and left items scattered around the building. They also attempted to break into a locked cabinet, leaving it damaged.  Nothing was reported stolen, but the total cost of the damages is estimated to be around $300.

“It looks like they weren’t able to get into it, just tampered with those locks,” Studley said. “But they said that those should be fixed without any real issues. They still function and are still able to keep people out.”

Police have no leads on the intruder so far but are currently evaluating footage from security cameras belonging to nearby houses.

“We’re in the process of going through and seeing if there are any cameras that face towards the road that would be helpful to us during that time frame,” Studley said.

The incident is still under investigation, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Santa Clara-Ivins Police Department dispatch line at 435-652-1122 or email [email protected]. Tips may also be submitted anonymously by calling 435-673-8488.
