ST. GEORGE — Traffic came to a halt Sunday afternoon after a three-car accident on Riverside Drive, just east of mall Drive.
Police and emergency personnel rushed to the crash scene, which involved a Jeep Grand Cherokee, Subaru four-door, and a Ford vehicle. Two of the vehicles sustained extensive damage and were later towed from the scene.
Additional officers were called in to direct traffic away from the crash.
While no serious injuries were reported, a driver and a juvenile were aided by paramedics at the scene.
No other information was available at the time of this report.
As it happens, Riverside Drive was mentioned in a story published recently outlining the worst intersections in St. George. While the roadway didn’t make the top three list, it is considered a high-crash area, according to St. George Police Officer Andy Mickelson, who is quoted in the aforementioned story.
