According to a press release from the water district, the festival is designed to promote water conservation throughout Iron County and will showcase water-efficient products, irrigation and landscape equipment; consulting and professional services; and software and technologies.

The festival will include free hot dogs starting at 11 a.m. courtesy of Ensign Engineering, which is the Big Wave Lunch Sponsor of this year’s event. There will be bounce houses and water-friendly activities for kids. Water balloon fights will take place every half hour. Other water activities include a slip ‘n’ slide and water sprayed from a Cedar City fire truck.

Attendees can learn about rebates for smart timers and agricultural incentive programs while visiting other educational and informative booths. The water district will be showcasing booths about water conservation, recharge and importation. There will be information about local programs, such as 4-H Club, Master Gardeners and much more. Food and merchandise vendors will also be present at the event.

The total water used in all activities at the festival will be less than 5,400 gallons, the press release stated, adding that the amount of water needed to irrigate Main Street Park in one night is 36,264 gallons. The festival activities will use less than one-sixth of the water needed to irrigate the park in one night.

Giveaway will include a barbecue grill and tickets to see Trace Adkins and the Neil Simon Festival. Mikey and the Mrs. from B-92.1 will be announcing the giveaways for community members who enter at the event or on Facebook.
