Collision flips SUV upside down, injures both drivers

CEDAR CITY — A collision Tuesday morning at an intersection in a residential area of Cedar City caused one of the vehicles to flip upside down and left both drivers with minor injuries.

Shortly after 8 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to 100 West and 200 South, Cedar City Police Sgt. Clint Pollock said. The two vehicles involved were a maroon Cadillac sedan with a female driver and a dark green Honda SUV with a male driver.

At the time of the collision, the Cadillac was heading north on 100 West, while the Honda was heading west on 200 South, Pollock said.

“The Cadillac failed to yield the right of way and pulled out in front of the SUV,” he said.

The SUV was flipped upside down in the collision, but its driver managed to get out of the vehicle on his own. He reportedly suffered a cut on his hand but remained at the scene and was not transported for medical care.

However, the woman driving the Cadillac was taken by Gold Cross Ambulance to Cedar City Hospital for evaluation. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

The driver of the Cadillac was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way, Pollock said.
