ST. GEORGE — Police said a man was cited for lewdness Thursday after “doing yoga naked” at the J.C. Snow Park.

St. George Police Officer Tiffany Atkin told St. George News that police responded to a call of a man doing yoga completely in the nude at the park around 9:50 a.m. Thursday.

Atkin said that the man had been wearing shorts when he originally began doing yoga but decided to remove them and continue with his exercise.

“He removed them and then he did some yoga, and then he put his shorts back on,” Atkin said.

Someone who was at the park during the time of the incident reported the man and agreed to sign a formal complaint.

He had already put his shorts back on and returned to his vehicle by the time police arrived.

The man was issued a citation for lewdness. According to Utah law, in most cases, the first or second offense of lewdness is considered a class B misdemeanor, unless the person is a sex offender or has been previously convicted of lewdness involving a child.
