ST. GEORGE — “Party in the Park” is back to kick off summer with free big-screen movies and live music.
In conjunction with the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games, Southern Utah University Community Education will present two Friday night events on June 7 and 21 at Cedar City’s Main Street Park.
The Party in the Park preshow starts at 7:30 p.m. with Funtime Inflatables, vendors and live music provided by SUU’s Red Rockers. Movies will begin at sunset – approximately 9:30 p.m. – with “Remember the Titans” on June 7 and “Big Hero 6″ on June 21.
According to a news release from SUU Community Education, this favorite summertime annual event brings local residents, athletes and visitors together to enjoy warm summer nights in the heart of downtown.
More than 9,000 athletes come to Cedar City each year for the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games, and they bring an estimated 30,000 family members with them.

“We are excited about Party in the Park – what an awesome way to spend your Friday night,” Pace Clarke, director of the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games, said in the news release. “Whether you are here as an athlete, spectator, or resident of Cedar City, Party in the Park is a fun way to spend a summer evening.”
Susie Knudsen, assistant director of SUU Community Education, added: “We have such great support from our local business partners and we are thrilled to see everyone come together for a family night out.”
