Jensen entered into a plea agreement with Washington County Attorney’s Office under which he would plead guilty to one count of aggravated robbery, a first degree felony, and the remaining charges would be dismissed, according to 5th District Court documents.
In addition to his prison time, he was fined $19,043 but $19,000 was suspended; he is required to pay $43 for court security fees. He was transported to the Central Utah Correctional Facility in Gunnison.
On July 10, Jensen approached a woman and her granddaughter in their garage at 1 a.m. He asked the victim for her keys but she refused, which prompted a physical altercation before Jensen pulled out a silver knife with a 5-inch blade.
The victim gave Jensen her keys. After taking the car, Jensen drove to a Chevron on Riverside Drive where he pointed an unknown object at the clerk while demanding money. The clerk gave Jensen the money.
Police located the stolen vehicle in the McDonald’s parking lot on Telegraph Street in Washington City. Jensen was exiting the vehicle and walking toward the restaurant’s entrance when he noticed police.
Jensen led police on a chase, reaching speeds of 90 miles per hour.
Jensen jumped out of the moving vehicle and ran through a neighborhood before police were able to use a stun gun and detain him.
