ST. GEORGE — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to Gunlock Reservoir after a report Friday that a 35-year-old man disappeared under the water.

Witnesses said the man and his family were cliff jumping and swimming at the lower falls Friday afternoon.

First responders were called at 5:27 p.m. after witnesses said the man and two friends jumped into the water and only two of the three came up to the surface.

The missing man came to the surface, seemingly unconscious, for a moment before being pulled back down, witnesses said.
