Northbound I-15 traffic approaching Utah border backed up due to brush fire

ST. GEORGE — A brush fire along northbound Interstate 15 about 2 miles south of the Utah state line is causing traffic to back up, according to the Arizona Department of Safety.

UPDATE | 2:30 p.m. | Sgt. Bottoms reported that the brush fire has been put out, through backed up traffic persist for the time being.

A brush fire ignited in the area of mile 27 of I-15 in Arizona around 1:25 p.m. The Beaver Dam-Littlefield Fire District and St. George Fire Department have responded.

Around 1:50 p.m. Arizona DPS Sgt. John Bottoms sent a notice to media that northbound traffic is moving very slowly through the fire area and has backed up for about 2-3 miles.
