The Cline M. and Jane O. Dahle Greenhouse, located on the third floor of the L.S. and Aline W. Skaggs Center for Health and Molecular Sciences on the SUU campus, will be open during its normal weekday hours – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – during the three-day event. The sale will feature a variety of plants, including indoor trees, perennial houseplants, organic vegetables, herb starts and native plants.

According to a news release from the university, money raised from the annual plant sale goes back to the greenhouse and student research projects, as well as outreach programs with local schools and farmers markets. All the plants are grown at the greenhouse with the help of SUU students.

The vegetable and herb starts available include different varieties of tomatoes and peppers, eggplants, squash, chives, rosemary, sugar snap pea, cauliflower, collard greens, broccoli, basil, lemongrass, thyme, stevia, lavender, carrots and chamomile.

Houseplants include succulents, cacti, scented geraniums, spider plants, snake plants, ferns, palms, hoyas, peperomias, aloe plants, jade plants, baby’s tears, mints, white ginger and more. A variety of species of fig trees will also be available.

A limited supply of native plants, all drought tolerant and perfect for xeriscaping, will be available this year. Those available for purchase are penstemons, Joshua trees, yucca species, Mexican hat, blanket flowers (Gaillardia), zinnias, sage, lavender and mountain mahogany.

Supplies are limited as plants are being transferred to the SUU Native Garden Center. Seeds will be available for a few species of native plants.

Prices will vary depending on the size and type of plant.
