Country singer Michael Ray, headliner for Southern Utah’s biggest Independence Day party, said he is excited to come to St. George and help celebrate what it means to be free on America’s big day.

“Acknowledging and honoring our servicemen and women and the sacrifices they and their families have made for our freedom is very important to me,” Ray told St. George News. “I am really looking forward to seeing people come together to celebrate patriotism with music and a record-breaking scene of sparklers at the 99.9 KONY Country’s ‘4th of July Celebration.'”

Dozens of lucky 99.9 listeners have already been able to win their entrance to the show at special ticket stops all around town during the past two weeks, and KONY DJ Marty Lane said the crowds have been growing bigger at every event.

“People are super, super excited,” he said, adding that Ray is one of the biggest stars in country music, and combined with opening act Jason McNabb, he expects it to be a great show.

“He’s just killing it in country music right now,” Lane said.

The video for Ray’s latest single “Her World or Mine” released two weeks ago, has already raked in 4.8 million views on YouTube.

Tickets for the show at Trailblazer Stadium go on sale at 10 a.m. through a link on KONY’s website and at Dixie State University’s online ticket site.

This year’s concert was made possible with the support of Ken Garff St. George Ford, The Lifetime Store, Andrus Transportation, Ram Company, Little Ceaser’s Pizza, Intermountain Dixie Regional Medical Center, SkyWest Airlines, Boulevard Home, Dixie State University and the city of St. George.

Unfortunately ticket stops have ended, but Lane said there will be more chances to win in the coming weeks and to stay tuned to 99.9  and “Marty and Amy in the morning” for the latest updates.

More information about Ray and his music can be found on his official website and at Facebook, Twitter and his Instagram @michaelraymusic.
