Failure to yield on left turn prompts three-car collision near Costco

ST. GEORGE — Police reported no serious injuries after two SUVs and a truck towing a 20-foot utility trailer collided near Costco.

St. George Police officer Tiffany Atkin said a 60-year-old female driver of a silver Nissan Rogue failed to yield on a left turn. The Nissan collided with a gray Chevrolet Avalanche towing a 20-foot utility trailer and causing another collision with a white Hyundai Tucson.

The accident occurred around 12:45 p.m. at at 850 N. 3050 East in front of Costco.

There were no passengers in the Chevrolet and Nissan and one male passenger in the Hyundai.

The 53-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet and the 62-year-old female driver of the Hyundai did not appear to sustain any injuries. The drivers involved refused medical treatment at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the Nissan was issued a citation for failure to yield on a left turn.

The Hyundai was driven into the Costco parking lot to be loaded onto a tow truck while the Nissan and the Chevrolet were lifted onto the tow trucks at the scene of the accident.
