ST. GEORGE — Failure to yield after a stop resulted in a crash at 900 East and Red Hills Parkway Monday morning, according to police.
The driver of a white city of St. George Ford Ranger pulled out in front of oncoming traffic when attempting to make a left turn out of the city yard onto Red Hills Parkway. A white Crofts Mercedes Sprinter cargo van, which was traveling west on Red Hills Parkway, hit the truck on the driver’s side, St. George Police officer Tiffany Atkin said.
“The city truck pulled out and got hit by a westbound car in the inside lane in the driver door,” Atkin said.
The driver of the city truck was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center with what appeared to be minor injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident, and the driver of the truck received a citation for failure to yield after a stop.
This report is based on statements from police or other responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
