CEDAR CITY — A pickup truck driver attempting to turn left onto southbound Main Street was struck by a northbound minivan Monday afternoon in Cedar City, police said.
Sgt. Clint Pollock of Cedar City Police Department said the incident occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Canyon Commercial Avenue and Main Street, at approximately 1700 North Main (click here for map).
Police said the man driving a gray Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck failed to yield to a gray Chrysler minivan, which was being driven by a woman reportedly accompanied by two children, ages 5 and 1, as passengers.
“There were minor injuries. Everybody was observed on scene by EMS,” Pollock said.
In addition to Cedar City Police and Gold Cross Ambulance personnel, Utah Highway Patrol troopers also responded and assisted with the clearing the scene.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.
No citations were issued, Pollock said.
