SALT LAKE CITY — A leader in the Utah-based Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been served with papers as part of a high-profile sex abuse lawsuit.
According to a report from Fox13Now, cellphone video provided on Monday shows Seth Jeffs being served with papers by Alan Mortensen, an attorney who represents a woman named “R.H.” She’s filed a lawsuit against Jeffs, his brother and imprisoned FLDS church leader Warren Jeffs and the church itself, among others, alleging “ritualistic sex abuse.”

Warren Jeffs was served papers in the multi-million dollar lawsuit in February at the Texas prison where he is serving a life sentence for child sex assault. However, at that point Mortensen stated in a motion to the 3rd District Court that they were unable to locate Seth Jeffs. This changed recently when it was discovered that Seth Jeffs had been living and working in northern Minnesota.
“It clearly appears that they’ve gone from a centralized location to having smaller groups in various locations across South Dakota, North Dakota, Colorado and Minnesota and who knows where else,” Mortensen told Fox13Now.
According to the lawsuit, “R.H.” alleges that when she was an 8-year-old girl, she was repeatedly taken from her home with a bag over her head, driven to an unknown location and sexually abused.

@ the two comments above, -Ummm pretty sure one size does not fit all. I was raised by one of the Jeffs brothers and he is one of the best men I’ve had the fortune of meeting in my life. Stop judging good people who have the misfortune of being related/family with these predators. It does not make them predators because of their family name. There are a lot of good people with the last name Jeffs who I love and know are AMAZING PEOPLE. I am happy to see those who have hurt people be brought to justice and for the victims to have a voice. Let’s celebrate that and not blast the last name Jeffs!
There’s probably dozens of Jeffs brothers I guess? I guess Daddy Rulon Jeffs was spreading his seed far and wide and siring sons all over the place? So how many is there? Does anyone really even know? I’m sorry you have to be related to the demon spawn, and maybe not all the Jeffs clan are as evil as the prophet. Was your mother older than 13-14 when you were born? I certainly hope so. Many of these plygs truly are the spawn of Satan.

Lacy, the name Jeffs and the word ‘good’ will never be used together in a sentence again by me… unless it is to say good riddance Jeff’s! I have read the book Warren’s daughter wrote and I know what she went through at age 8 and beyond. What happened to her was pure evil and completely disgusting. I wouldn’t trust any one of the monsters in that family but I was not brainwashed by them, like you were, either so I don’t blame you for being upset. I hope you can get the help you need.
