Sept. 17, 1942 – Jan. 4, 2019
James Michael McFadden Sr. passed away from our arms on Jan. 4, 2019 at the age of 76 with family by his side after a hard fought battle with cancer. James was born in Paris, Texas, Sept. 17, 1942, to Elmer H. McFadden and Elsie O. (Nash) McFadden.
He was preceded in death by his mother, his father, two sisters, Mozell Stone and Billy Jo (Alvis) Arney.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pearl A. (Goettling) McFadden, a son James M. Jr (Shiela), a daughter Kathleen (Diane Moll), five grandchildren, Ana, Jonathan, Connor, Sommer, Tasha, one great-grandchild, Audri, and his brother, William H. McFadden.
Jim has a truly patriotic soul who served his country and community. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964, taking the first group of Marine helicopters into Vietnam.
His military training gave him a lifetime job working as a licensed airline mechanic for Pacific Southwest Airlines and US Airways in San Diego for 36 years. After retiring he moved to Saint George, Utah.
There will be a “celebration of life” on March 2 at 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at his favorite place, Purgatory Clay Sports in the Southern Utah Shooting Sports Park, 5650 W. 700 South, Hurricane, Utah.
