MURRAY — Two people were injured and three suspects were being sought following a shooting at the Fashion Place Mall in Murray Sunday afternoon, and Monday morning, Fox13Now reported that two men from the Wasatch Co. / Summit Co. area had been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Det. Kenny Bass, a spokesman for Murray PD, identified those arrested as Jesus J. Payan-Mendoza and Jorge C. Gonzalez, both 19.

Both were booked into jail on charges of attempted criminal homicide and felony discharge of a firearm.

Bass said everyone involved in the shooting was a member of one gang or another. It’s unclear if Payan-Mendoza and Gonzalez were the primary instigators in the shooting.

Fox13Now originally reported Murray Police as saying Sunday that the shooting was “possibly gang-related” and that they were looking for three people who fled the mall in light-colored hoodies or sweatshirts and dark pants.

Two people were wounded in the shooting. Murray Police Detective Kenny Bass told reporters that a man and a woman in their 20s were taken to Intermountain Medical Center. The man was in critical condition, and the woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition. She was treated then released from the hospital.

Police and mall officials said the shooting happened outside the mall’s east side, but witnesses and video posted on social media recorded loud bangs and people running inside the mall. Images shared with Fox13Now showed police officers with guns drawn running through the mall as incredulous looking shoppers watched.

Ah yes, hoodies and baggy jeans. The official uniform of the American thug.

So two illegals shot up a mall. What a shoicker that is. Hey did anyone bother to check the legal status of the people that produced these two upstanding Mexican citizens?

Given the major discussion going on in our country right now I’d like to know their citizenship status. And for the record, that isn’t a racial or cultural question, it’s a statistical one. Their names follow the pattern of the vast, vast majority of those coming across the southern border illegally. Ignoring that fact would be lunacy.

Your question is not, “a statistical one.” 58 people killed by a white guy in Vegas and you want to use this to justify a wall.

So maybe he meant “the probability”. But then you will bring up the profiling issue. Gang-bangers first and then wetbacks?

  • Redbud January 14, 2019 at 2:17 pm

This is another tragedy that highlights our need to Build That Wall!
