Travel trailers ignite in early morning blaze behind RV shop

ST. GEORGE — The St. George Fire Department responded to an incident at a local RV dealership and repair shop Monday morning where three travel trailers had caught fire behind the building.

St. George Fire Department crews and St. George Police officers were dispatched to Premier RV Brokers at 2705 S. 60 East, at 12:44 a.m., St. George Fire Chief Robert Stoker said.

Three fire trucks and 15 firefighters were sent to the scene.

The crews discovered one travel trailer on fire behind the dealership. The building and nearby trailers were exposed to flames, causing one other trailer to ignite and damaging a third.

There was no damage to the Premier RV Brokers building.

The estimated damages are $25,000 to $30,000.

“The two trailers involved were total losses and the third should be repairable,” Stoker said.

No one was inside the business or the trailers at the time of the incident. All three trailers involved were at the shop for repairs and owned by third parties.

The cause of the fire is currently still under investigation.
