Richard William Flowers, age 87, passed away Dec. 27, 2018. He was born March 25, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William Charles Flowers and Lillian May Brink Flowers. He married Mary Ellen Timmerman Flowers on April 26, 1950, in the Salt Lake Temple.
Dick was raised in Salt Lake City and brought his family to settle in St. George in 1969. He worked as an excavating contractor and later for the St. George City Water Department. He loved to work, loved to fish and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ellen Timmerman Flowers; his children Marilee Chapman (Barney), Steven Flowers (Kathy), Carol Flowers (Kyle Anderson), Gary Flowers; daughter-in-law Frances Hadley Flowers; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings and son William Richard Flowers.
Funeral services
- Funeral services will be Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. at the Red Hills Chapel, 200 W. 500 North.
- Friends may call Jan. 2, from 5-7 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 Bluff St., St. George, or at the Red Hills Chapel from 9:30-10:30 a.m. the day of service.
