ST. GEORGE — A woman was killed and two others were seriously injured Wednesday in a vehicle collision on state Route 89 in Garfield County.
The crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. on SR-89 at milepost 114 near Panguitch, according to the Utah Department of Public Safety.
A black Nissan Altima was making a U-turn when it was hit in the side by a southbound white Nissan Pathfinder.
Three people were originally listed as being in critical condition, according to a Twitter post from the Utah Highway Patrol sent out around 8 p.m. Medical helicopters were also called to the scene to transport the injured to the hospital, the post stated.

However, Utah DPS updated the number of injured from three to two who were flown to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George from Garfield Memorial Hospital for emergency care.
The third individual, who had been sitting in the back seat of the Nissan Altima, was killed. She was identified by DPS as 72-year-old Tong Xian He, of Jin Zhong, China.
The two people taken to the hospital were also in the Altima when it was hit.
DPS did not state if weather conditions played a part in the collision.
The UHP reported earlier in the day that there had been multiple crashes across the state since the start of a winter storm Tuesday night.
Two crashes that occurred Wednesday involved UHP cruisers being hit, according to the agency’s Twitter posting.
“Fortunately, neither crash involving our patrol vehicles resulted in injury,” the port stated.
