ST. GEORGE — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Salt Lake County teenager last seen Dec. 21 by her family.
UPDATE Dec. 26, 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, Lily’s mother Jennie Brown posted on Facebook that her daughter has been located and is safe. “Lily has been found,” the post read. This information was corroborated about that same time by Herriman Police Department, which sent out an email to news media announcing that the missing person advisory had been canceled.
Lily Stephens, 15, reportedly left her home in Herriman about 5:30 p.m. Friday and has not been seen by her family since. She was reportedly last seen in the Draper area.
“Lily left a hand-written note in her bedroom threatening self harm,” stated a press release issued Tuesday by the Herriman City Police Department. “When she left, she indicated she was going to stay with a friend but her whereabouts since the 21st are unknown. She did not take a coat with her or clothing appropriate for winter weather.”
Stephens, a sophomore at Herriman High School. is described as being 5 feet 9-inches and weighing 160 pounds. Her hair is blond with faded blue streaks, and she has blue eyes.
Stephens was reportedly last seen wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt with the word “BROOKLYN” in red letters, as seen in the main photo accompanying this article. She was also wearing black leggings, according to the news release.
