“Make a bad day good and a good day great!” encourages the company’s website, and Hans Kirchhausen, owner and manager of Yogurtland’s St. George location, said one way they live up to that slogan is through what they put into their creations.

“We have all fresh ingredients, all real natural ingredients, no preservatives,” Kirchhausen said. “There is no artificial flavoring or anything like that. If it says that it’s toasted coconut then, it really is legitimate.”

Making your own yogurt treat at Yogurtland is simple: Just grab a cup and choose any of the dozen or so delicious soft yogurt flavors dispensed from the self-serve machines. Available flavors do vary, as they are rotated each week, but typically they include options such as vanilla, Sumatra coffee, real strawberry, cookies and cream, peanut butter, chocolate, honeydew and cranberry raspberry tart, just to name a few.

In addition to yogurt, other available options include ice cream, sorbet and custard, including some low fat and sugar-free choices. Customers may request a tasting spoon to sample any of the flavors for free before deciding on which one (or more) they like best.

Once your cup is filled with yogurt, the only remaining step is to head over to the toppings bar and scoop whatever you want on top.

“We have 53 toppings,” Kirchhausen said, “ranging from sweet ones like gummy bears, Butterfinger and Snickers, to fresh fruits like strawberries, kiwis, mangoes, blackberries, raspberries and blueberries.”

After that, it’s time to weigh and pay, at the rate of 47 cents per ounce, making a typical half-pound serving run just under $4.
