WASHINGTON CITY — Police confirmed Friday that a local man died three days after he was seriously injured in a head-on crash Dec 9 on a dirt road in Washington City.

Washington City Police also identified the man Friday as Wade Henderson, 48, of Washington City. He died from internal injuries Dec. 12 after the crash on a power-line road off Main Street that involved a dirt bike and a side-by-side utility task vehicle, Washington City Police Lt. Jason Williams said.

Henderson, who was driving the dirt bike, was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center by ambulance after he sustained a serious injury to his arm.

Williams said doctors at the hospital discovered Henderson had also suffered serious internal injuries that he succumbed to three days later “despite the hospital’s efforts.”

Several detectives were called in to conduct an extensive accident investigation to determine the cause of the collision. The findings may lead to possible charges for the driver of the side-by-side, Williams said.

“The investigative side of the incident is now complete, and we are working with the county attorney who is reviewing the case for potential criminal charges,” he said, adding that the findings are still being reviewed by the Washington County Attorney’s Office.

No charges have been filed in connection with the incident at this point, he said.

This report is based on statements from police or other responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

It’s strange that they’re considering charges because over 90% of the time we see on-road negligent homicides being ruled “no fault accidents”. Maybe he was friends to somebody important? Some politician perhaps?

Yeah, smells fishy to me. They were both off roading, and one would think a motorbike has more responsibility due to the nature of them being more dangerous… the side by side was more visible… unless they swerved or played chicken on him..? Dont get it.

I agree. I guess as long as no one died they were okay with not charging anybody. It seems like it was just an accident and I’m sure the driver of the other vehicle feels pretty horrible without having criminal charges slapped on him.

I hope it’s ultimately considered no fault and let no one gets criminal charges slapped on them.

It looks like a fairly wide open area, and not sand-dunish like Sand Mtn which requires flags. Speed was obviously a factor!
