ST. GEORGE — Voters will have the opportunity to meet all the Republican candidates – or their representatives – at a family event organized by the Washington County Republican Women. This “Meet and Greet” will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. George Town Square Park located at 50 S. Main St.

“This is a convenient way for voters to visit with candidates face-to-face and get to know them better,” Lesa Sandberg, WCRW president, said in a press release for the event.

Sandberg said there will around a dozen candidates or their representatives at the event, including U.S. Senate candidate Mitt Romney; Congressman Chris Stewart; Utah Reps. Brad Last, Lowry Snow, Travis Seegmiller and Walt Brooks; Utah Sen. Evan Vickers; County Commissioner Victor Iverson; Washington County Sheriff Cory Pulsipher; Washington County Attorney Brock Belnap; and Washington County Clerk Kim Hafen.

“Especially in local elections it’s important for citizens to know who they are voting for because the outcome can have a big impact on our community,” Sandberg said.

Families are welcome at this free event. There will be food, entertainment and activities for children.

The 2018 General Election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Early voting begins on Oct. 30 at the Washington County Administration Building, 197 E Tabernacle in St. George and ends Nov. 2.

A meet the candidates should have been held prior to the primary, the real election in this area. Dems have little chance in the general.
