Labor Day weekend weather forecast: Get your boating, hiking or just hanging out in early to avoid the rain

ST. GEORGE — According to the National Weather Service, this weekend’s weather for the majority of southwestern Utah will include enjoyable temperatures and mostly sunny skies. However, a chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected on Labor Day for the majority of Southern Utah. There is a hazardous weather warning in place for Southern Utah.

Below are your St. George, Cedar City, Zion National Park and Lake Powell area weekend weather forecasts, including current warnings and advisories.

St. George

Saturday

Sunny with a high of 97 and low of 67, with winds of 5-8 mph.

Sunday

Sunny with a high of 96 and low of 66, with winds of 5 mph.

Monday

Mostly sunny with a high of 93 and low of 68, with winds of 5 mph.

Cedar City

Saturday

Sunny with a high of 84 and low of 58, with winds of 6-10 mph.

Sunday

Mostly sunny with a high of 83 and low of 60, with winds of 8 mph.

Monday 

Mostly sunny with a high of 82 and low of 59, with winds of 6-9 mph. There will be a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight.

Zion National Park

Sunny with a high of 83 and low of 56, with winds of 6-10 mph.

Sunday

Mostly sunny with a high of 83 and low of 56, with winds of 8-10 mph. There will be a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight.

Monday

Mostly sunny with a high of 82 and low of 54, with winds of 5-9 mph. There will be a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon.

ADVISORY: Lake Powell’s mussel infestation continues to worsen

Saturday

Mostly sunny with a high of 91 and low of 65, with winds of 6-9 mph.There will be a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon.

Sunday

Mostly sunny with a high of 89 and low of 67, with winds of 6 mph. There’s a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight.

Monday

Mostly sunny with a high of 89 and low of 65, with winds of 3-7 mph.

Warnings and advisories

A hazardous weather outlook has been issues for the western two thirds of Utah.

The balance of the Labor Day weekend will see additional afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms across mainly the southern and eastern portions of Utah. These showers and thunderstorms will produce gusty winds, brief rainfall and lightning, and will have only brief impacts to outdoor recreation
