Free concert to feature ‘America’s Got Talent’ performer Daniel Park

ST. GEORGE — Named in the top 100 acts of  “America’s Got Talent” during season 7, Daniel Park will be the next featured artist at St. George’s free “Concert in the Park.” The show will take place July 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Vernon Worthen Park at 300 S. 400 East.

In addition to Park’s placement in NBC’s popular “America’s Got Talent,” he also released “Sidewalk Guitar” an extended play record in 2014, which is now playing as the current hold music for the online shoe and clothing company Zappos, according to a press release.

Park developed the distinctive sound while performing more than 300 shows all along the West Coast and throughout the Southwest prior to 2012, where he was in a state of permanent touring.

During that period, Park entertained using an electric violin and the technique of “looping,” which is done by taking short sections of a track, which are repeated by recording layers upon layers of music in real-time, live before an audience to create an entire performance.

The art of looping has  has become increasingly popular and is highlighted by various artists, including Ed Sheeran, a Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter from the United Kingdom.

In Las Vegas, Park entertains three to four hours a night at the Bellagio, where he holds weekly residencies.

The Concert in the Park 2018 Series is free to the public and is held the second Monday of each month from April to September. Park seating is available, bring blankets, lawn chairs, food and the family.

The concert is sponsored by the city of St. George with funding from the Utah Division of Arts and Museums, the state of Utah and the National Endowment for the Arts.
