At approximately 6:58 p.m., officers from St. George Police were dispatched to the incident at 745 S. Bluff St.

A 26-year-old man was driving north on Bluff Street when a mechanical issue caused him to lose control of the red 1991 Eagle Summit, St. George Police Officer Zack Bahlmann said. He crossed into the southbound lane and into a ditch, colliding with a concrete wall several times before coming to a stop on the sidewalk.

The man was wearing a seat belt and escaped the incident without injury, Bahlmann said.

The vehicle, on the other hand, sustained some damage and was disabled, requiring a tow truck to retrieve it.

The driver was cited for improper lane travel, Bahlmann said.

Skid marks were apparent on the sidewalk where the car left the roadway.

Traffic was unhindered by the crash.
