News short: Police respond to report of man brandishing firearm

ST. GEORGE – Police officers responded to an incident involving a firearm at a residence on Indian Hills Drive Saturday evening.

Around 6:40 p.m., police units were sent to the Woodbridge subdivision at 1301 W. Indian Hills Drive after it was reported a man allegedly brandished a gun during a possible burglary. Prior to police officers’ arrival, the man with the gun was apprehended and subdued by others at the condominium complex.

“He did brandish a firearm in the commission of a crime,” St. George Police Lt. Rich Triplett said at the scene.

There was little else he was able to confirm at the time as police were still gathering evidence and conducting interviews.

Though the incident is still under investigation, Triplett said it will likely result in an arrest,

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

    I’m just glad no one was injured we have a well trained Police department that know how to handle situations like this. we are so blessed to have them here
