REVIEW — In “Arrival,” the latest effort from the brilliant storyteller behind “Incendies,” “Prisoners” and “Sicario,” a linguist (Amy Adams) teams with a mathematician (Jeremy Renner) to crack a communication barrier between an alien race and mankind. Is this somber epic a sci-fi classic for the ages, or is it dead on arrival?
In the lively animated musical “Trolls,” Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake join forces in an effort to keep their friends from being eaten by a town full of ogre-like monsters called Bergens. Does “Trolls” emerge as one of the best animated features of the year, or do these cute little buggers deserve to be eaten?
Also on this jam packed episode of “Film Fanatics,” Bruce Bennett and Adam Mast briefly talk “Doctor Strange” and “Hacksaw Ridge.”
