CEDAR CITY — In an effort to support future productions, Cedar Valley Community Theatre invites the public to attend its first “Pre-Thanksgiving Holiday Spectacular” fundraiser on Nov. 14 at St. Jude’s Episcopal Church on 70 N. 200 West.

When asked about the title of the show, Cedar Valley Community Theatre President Stephen Wagner said that the theatre wanted to put a fun twist on the standard holiday show that is so prevalent this time of year.

We’re taking a cue from the joyful Christmas insanity that descends upon our culture the moment Halloween ends,” Wagner said. “In classic variety show style, the show is packed with fun musical numbers celebrating the holidays, with many songs presented in a way you haven’t seen before. We’ll also showcase great instrumental numbers, which gives us a chance to bring our talented orchestra musicians front and center for the first time.”

All proceeds from the Pre-Thanksgiving Holiday Spectacular will go toward Cedar Valley Community Theatre’s spring 2017 production. Admission to the fundraiser includes an entry into a drawing of your choice. There will also be prizes from local businesses, including Sonny Boy’s Barbecue, Lupita’s Mexican Restaurant, Retro Fitness, Main Street Books, Wingers, Grind Coffee House, The Pizza Cart and much more.

The show is filled with big songs and big laughs,” Wagner continued. “It’s a wonderful and fun way to come show your support for the work that CVCT does in the community. Events such as this help us to provide you with live musicals and plays every year. And by entering our drawings before the show, you have a great chance to win a few holiday gifts for loved ones, or perhaps a treat for yourself!”

Admission is a suggested donation of $5 for children and students with a student ID, $10 for adults, and $20 for families of four or more. Come see family, friends and neighbors as they perform the holiday’s greatest classics to help keep your local community theatre open for you and your family to enjoy. You will also be able to get a free digital family photo with Santa Claus after the performance. This is one evening of entertainment you won’t want to miss.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the performance begins at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, and there will be prize giveaways. Bring the whole family for a cabaret performance celebrating classic holiday music sung by your favorite Cedar Valley Community Theatre stars.
