“At approximately 9:26 (a.m.) today I was dispatched to a crash here on 1900 East, and approximately 1050 North involving a car and a motorcycle” St. George Police Officer Jamison Hale said. “When I arrived on scene the motorcyclist was being treated by ambulance staff, therefore I spoke with the driver of the other vehicle.”

The driver of the car, a red Buick SUV, told Hale he was driving south on 1900 East when the motorcycle came out of a driveway and ran into the side of his car.

“I spoke to the motorcyclist before he got transported to the hospital,” Hale said, “He said he was coming out of the driveway, he looked both directions, thought it was clear and came out, and made contact with the other car (the Buick).”

The rider was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George complaining of lower back pain. The driver of the SUV and his passenger were uninjured in the mishap.

No citations were issued on scene, but Hale said one would likely be issued upon the completion of the investigation.

Units from St. George Police and Fire Departments and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
