MESQUITE, Nev. — The $125,000 Nevada Open is scheduled for Nov. 7 – 10 in the golf destination of Mesquite, Nevada. The official pro-am, featuring valuable prizes for amateurs and an additional bonus cash prize purse for professionals, is scheduled for Nov. 7 at The Palms Golf Club.

Future PGA Tour professionals and other aspiring pros from around the United States are teeing it up in both the pro-am and the official competition, slated for Nov. 8 – 10 at The Palms and CasaBlanca courses. A total purse of $125,000 is up for grabs during the professional competition.

Registration is now open for the tournament and pro-am. Each one is projected to sell out again in 2016. Interested professionals and amateurs can visit the Nevada Open website for all information and reservations.

“This is the second year of the pro-am, and we are thrilled to have added it because it only adds to the tradition and historic value of the Nevada Open, which has been played for more than four decades,” Christian Adderson, Mesquite Gaming corporate sales manager, said. “It gives amateur golfers a chance to play with the future stars of the PGA tour. We have had such a great history of players and it is a good opportunity to get to know them. A portion of the pro-am entry fee goes to benefit Mesquite Junior Golf, so it not only is a great time for amateurs but they are helping us give back to the community. The junior golf program is doing big things in Mesquite and it is getting the next generation involved in the game of golf.”

The amateurs are invited to stay for the entire three days of the professional competition. Admission is free and spectators are welcome on the courses.

Entry for the pro-am is $140 per player or $560 for the team. For the professional competition, the entry fee for non-affiliated professionals is $725. The fee for PGA of America golf professionals is $500, while Southern Nevada PGA of America professionals are offered a rate of $450.

Amateurs are welcome to compete in the three-day Nevada Open, and the entry fee is $350. Amateur entrants will be screened by the tournament committee, and those selected will be contacted personally. All entry fees include accommodations for three nights at CasaBlanca Resort. The event is free to all spectators.

Among the champions of the Nevada Open throughout its history are Robert Gamez, Vic Wilk, Kevin Penner and Tom Lehman. Other notables who have played in the tournament include PGA Tour players Craig Barlow, Boyd Summerhayes, Kevin Stadler and Champions PGA Tour player Jay Don Blake.

The Nevada Open is presented by Mesquite Gaming and also sponsored by the Mesquite Resort Association.
