
Update 5:15 p.m.: An Amber Alert issued Monday for Caden Neal Rhew has been canceled. The 11-year-old boy was found safe and the suspect is in custody.
ST. GEORGE — An Amber Alert has been issued for an 11-year-old boy authorities said was abducted from South Ogden Sunday night.
Caden Neal Rhew was last seen at 11 p.m. Sunday at 3885 S. Raymond Avenue.
While Rhew left willingly with suspect Weston Kubbe, 37, according to the Amber Alert, authorities have classified the boy’s disappearance as an abduction.
According to the alert, Rhew may try to cover for Kubbe, who police said has a concealed weapon permit.
The two are believed to be traveling in a black 2009 Ford Escape with the license plate number of X078CM.
Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is asked to call South Ogden police at 801-629-8221 or The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Hotline at 1-800-843-5678.

An AMBER Alert is a rapid notification system to alert the public and solicit their assistance when a child has been abducted and is facing grave danger.
The U.S. Department of Justice recommends the following criteria for issuing an AMBER Alert: 1) There is reasonable belief by law enforcement an abduction has occurred; 2) The abduction is of a child age 17 years or younger; 3) The law-enforcement agency believes the child is in imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death; 4) There is enough descriptive information about the victim and abduction for law enforcement to issue an AMBER Alert to assist in the recovery of the child.
