ST. GEORGE – Multiple arrests related to alleged prostitution have been made so far this week in unrelated incidents.
Prior to the arrests of two individuals Tuesday in an incident involving prostitution and a minor, two women were arrested Monday for alleged prostitution in an separate incident. A fifth arrest for alleged prostitution was made Wednesday.
Asha Minichi Aadil, of Las Vegas, and Ernasia Dainiqe Young, of Fresno, California, were taken into custody Monday at a local hotel during a vice operation conducted by St. George Police, according to a probable cause statement.
The two women had allegedly advertised “services for sexual solicitation” over a website commonly used for proposition, according to the statement. During an interview with police, Aadil told them she had used the website for that purpose.
In addition to driving herself from Las Vegas, she transported Young to St. George as well. Both had come “for the sole purpose of prostitution,” according to the statement.
Both were arrested and booked into the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility. Aadil has been charged with a felony charge of exploiting prostitution while Young was charged with a misdemeanor offense for prostitution.
Monday’s arrests are not related to the Tuesday arrests of California residents John Alcutt and Keilii Maxey, St. George Police Officer Lona Trombley confirmed Thursday.
Wednesday’s arrest involved a woman allegedly advertising escort services online in the St. George area, according to the probable cause statement.
Posing as a potential customer, St. George Police made contact with the woman, identified as Ting Hsuan Wu, of El Monte, California, and she allegedly “agreed to perform sexual favors in exchange for money.”
A meeting at a St. George location was arranged, but before police made contact, a man was seen leaving the room the woman was supposed to be in. He was detained and questioned and told police he had received a massage and that a sexual act had been performed in exchange for money.
Following police making contact with Wu, she was taken into custody and confirmed what the man leaving the room had told them, according to the probable cause statement. Investigators also believe they have confirmed Wu to be the woman they were in contact with over the internet a day earlier.
Wu was booked into the county jail and subsequently charged with misdemeanor counts of prostitution, sexual solicitation, operating a massage parlor with no license, and no business license.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by the responders and may not contain the full scope of findings. Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
