Storm triggers power outage in Hurricane, Leeds

HURRICANE —  Rocky Mountain Power has reported power outages in areas of Hurricane and Leeds Friday morning. These outages make up two of several cities in Utah being affected by widespread weather-related damage.

Approximately 882 customers are currently without power in areas covered by the 84737 zip code, according to information from Rocky Mountain Power. Typically Rocky Mountain Power will post outages that affect more than 500 customers.

A loss of transmission caused the outage according to the update. Crews are on site, and repairs are currently underway.

There was no estimated time of power restoration available as of 9:45 a.m., but customers are being asked to check for updates at the Rocky Mountain Power Large-Scale Outage Information website. According to the website, updates are posted every 30 minutes at a minimum.
