Mary Day, of St. George, Utah, passed away on Aug. 31, at the age of 62. She is survived by her husband, Martin Day; daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Kris Cassie; three grandchildren Alyssa, Ashley and Jake who were the light of her life; sister Judy Raffaele; brothers Bill and Richard Smith of Mesquite, Nevada; nieces April (who was like a daughter to her), Tracey and Anna; and nephew Bill.
She also leaves behind many loving friends and her beloved dog Abbey. She is predeceased by her mother, Margaret Smith; infant son Charles; and nephew Victor.
Born on Oct. 20, 1953, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she previously lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Lake Worth, Florida.
While in St. George, she was employed at Dixie Regional Medical Center for 19 years. She was completely devoted to her family and her grandchildren especially, whom she loved to visit and laugh with. She had a generous heart, an honest sense of humor and cared deeply for those closest to her.
- Mary requested a private family visitation, which was held on Sept. 3, 2016.
She had a special place in her heart for animals. Donations can be made in her name to any animal rescue organization.
