James Iverson Ott, 76, passed away from a pool accident on June 29, 2016, while vacationing in Las Vegas, Nevada, to celebrate his 76th birthday and 38th anniversary to Sharon L. Ott. He was born June 25, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to James L. and Addie May Iverson Ott. He was raised and educated in Salt Lake City, graduating from Olympus High in 1958. After serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Ranger in the pacific, he married Sherry Mikesell. They had three children and later divorced.

Retiring after 32 years from Questar, Jim worked part-time as a parts driver for Peterbilt for two years before he and Sharon moved to Washington, Utah. They enjoyed traveling east to visit family and friends, cruising the Pacific, Caribbean, New England, Alaska, Panama Canal and Mexico. He looked forward to their Hawaii trips and helicoptering over the islands.

He dearly loved his children, having his grandchildren visit, hearing about his nieces and nephews, going to action movies, eating crab leg buffets, watching music videos, Pink Floyd music and his beer.

Jim is survived by his bride, Sharon; daughter, Angie (Rod) Andra; son, Travis (Alisa) Ott; brothers: Robert (Janalee); Richard (Vickie), David (Connie); sister, Carol Crose; grandchildren: Landen, Tayler, Cayden and Kylea; and seven nieces and nephews.
