Missing girl found

CEDAR CITY – Authorities said they have located a runaway female juvenile who reportedly ran from a local boarding school nearly two weeks ago.

According to a news release issued by the Cedar City Police Department, 17-year-old Ashley Gooch was found Wednesday in New Mexico. She was reported to have run away June 18 from Mountain Springs Preparatory School.

“She was found safe and will soon be reunited with her parents,” police Sgt. Jimmy Roden said.

While police believed Gooch had left the area, Roden said they weren’t positive until after she was found.

“Those suspicions were confirmed today when she was found,” Roden said

No other details were available from the Police Department on the missing girl.

Cedar City Police thanked all those who assisted in looking for her.

I suspect many teens going though the hormonal changes would find it hard to cope with a boarding school .
I wish there was a better solution for kids who have dysfunctional families .
