ST. GEORGE — A Cadillac sedan T-boned a Toyota Avalon on Dixie Drive just after noon Monday, injuring the driver of the Toyota Avalon.
“We have a red Cadillac coming out of the Albertson’s parking lot here on Dixie Drive, waiting to make a left hand turn, ” St. George Police Officer Jamison Hale said. “Then we have a Toyota Avalon southbound on Dixie Drive coming out in the left lane.”
The Cadillac driver , a 58-year-old female from St. George did not see the Toyota Avalon, Hale said, and hit the Toyota on the passenger side.
The impact spun the Toyota around, leaving it facing southbound. The Cadillac was able to make it off the road under its own power.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
Both cars were towed from the scene. SGPD officer Lona Trombley said the driver of the Toyota, a 77-year-old female resident of St. George was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George with shoulder injuries and stomach pain.
The unhurt Cadillac driver was issued a citation for failure to yield after a stop sign.
