Dr. Bate graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. He earned his medical degree  from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He then completed a neurosurgery  residency at the Univeristy of Tennessee Health Science Center and the Semmes-Murphy Clinic in  Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Bate has been published in  research publications on topics such as stereotactic radiosurgery for spine tumors and blunt  cerebrovascular injuries.
