Busy St. George Sentinels drop one to Salt lake Gulls

ST. GEORGE — In the midst of a monster week, the St. George Sentinels returned home for a game against the Salt Lake Gulls Friday night, dropping a 12-8 decision to the northern Utah team at Panther Field.

sentinels“We were ahead for much of the game, but ran out of pitching at the end,” Sentinels coach Shane Johanson said.

The Gulls hit a pair of three-run home runs in the final couple of innings to come away with the come-from-behind victory.

St. George is amid a seven games in five days stretch and has a pair of games in Las Vegas Saturday.

The Sentinels feature 18 players from local high schools donning the St. George red, gray and blue uniforms. The Sentinels have players from Pine View, Dixie, Hurricane and Moapa Valley.
